Copper oxide
Copper oxide is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula CuO, a black oxide of copper, slightly amphoteric and slightly hygroscopic. Insoluble in water and ethanol, easily soluble in acid, stable to heat, decomposing at high temperatures to produce oxygen. Copper oxide is mainly used in the production of artificial silk, ceramics, glaze and enamel, batteries, petroleum desulfurization agent, insecticide, but also for the production of hydrogen, catalyst, green glass, etc.
